Job Description

The farm maintenance technician will maintain duck houses at multiple locations, and install, maintain, and repair farm equipment and live haul trailers.
Duck House maintenance, plumbing and electrical systems.
Work with and maintain the following equipment: ventilation controls, gas fired heaters, feed augers, fans, light and light manure equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and buildings.
Safely operate machinery and work with live production areas to ensure equipment remains in service.
Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Fabricate and work from layouts.
Listens for unusual sounds from equipment to detect malfunction and discusses equipment operation variations with maintenance team to diagnose problem.
Dismantles defective equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in clean, legible, and accurate format, completed with required information.
Follow all Biosecurity Practices.
Report any damages to company property.
Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Completes other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or engineering specialties, preferred.
Minimum two (2) years operations or farm maintenance experience, required.
One year of welding experience is required.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Basic personal computer skills: knowledge of Maintenance CMMS systems and Outlook.
Strong teamwork skills with willingness to assist others.
Ability to use tools to fix or fabricate parts.
Ability to satisfy all assigned work schedules, including weekends, and comply with all time and attendance policies.
Valid Driver s License required to operate between multi-site locations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
Physical Demands
The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach and service machinery.
Must be able to visually inspect equipment.
Must be able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
The to safely ascend/descend a ladder while carrying 40 pounds.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance.
Ability to work in a wide range of working conditions including office and farms.
Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and ammonia.
Outside conditions include inclement weather, cold, heat and humidity.
The noise level may be loud at times.
